The harbour and downtown core sit inside YHM's controlled airspace, requiring NAV CANADA RPAS Flight Authorization for every commercial flight — something we file as part of standard process. The escarpment creates terrain-induced wind shear that catches out pilots used to flat-prairie GTA work. And much of the older housing stock on the Mountain and in Westdale has steep slate or cedar shake roofs where foot inspection is genuinely dangerous.
