// 06 — FAQ

Common questions.

Most answers land here. Anything else — drop it in the quote form notes and we'll cover it in the reply.

How much does a drone inspection cost?

Most residential roof inspections fall between $300–$600. Commercial roofs, towers, and high-rise facades scale with size and complexity, typically $800–$3,000. Large 3D site surveys and utility-scale solar are custom-quoted.

Use the estimator above for a live range, or send a brief and we'll come back with a firm number within one business day.

How fast can you get on site, and how fast is the report?

Standard turnaround is on-site within 3–5 business days of booking, with the report delivered 24–72 hours after the flight. Rush (48-hour) service is available as a paid add-on when scheduling allows.

Are you certified and insured?

Yes. Apex holds a Transport Canada RPAS Advanced operations certificate, which is required for most commercial drone work in Canadian airspace, including controlled zones and operations near people. We carry $2M commercial drone liability insurance and can name your project or property on a certificate of insurance on request.

What's actually in the deliverable?

Every job ships with full-resolution raw imagery, an annotated PDF summary identifying observations and any defects, and the metadata file for the flight. Survey jobs add orthomosaics, digital elevation models, point clouds (.las/.laz), and volumetric measurements as ordered.

Files are delivered via a private download link, valid for 90 days.

What areas do you cover?

Hamilton and the broader Greater Toronto Area are our core service zones: Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, Durham, plus the Niagara region and Kitchener/Waterloo. Travel outside this radius is quoted case-by-case — send us a brief and we'll let you know.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Drones don't fly safely or capture clean imagery in heavy rain, snow, or sustained winds above about 35 km/h. If conditions on your scheduled day are below spec, we'll reach out the morning of and re-book to the next available slot at no charge.

Do I need to be on site during the flight?

Not usually. For most exterior roof, tower, solar, and survey work we just need site access, any gate codes, and a contact number. For occupied buildings or active job sites, we'll coordinate timing in advance to minimize disruption.

Can the report be used for an insurance claim?

Yes. The annotated PDF is built to be forwarded directly to insurers, adjusters, contractors, or warranty providers. We document conditions factually with date-stamped, geotagged imagery — we don't diagnose or assign cause, which keeps the report credible as third-party evidence.
